One of the highlights of Space Camp is the team Mission. Students are assigned jobs in Mission Control, on the ISS or on a Space Shuttle and given mission to complete. Atlas will complete two missions this week.
Training for the first mission began Monday afternoon.
Eddie will be working on the International Space Center completing experiments and conducting an EVA. EVA stands for Extravehicular Activity. Eddie will be going into the cargo bay of the shuttle during the mission. He will be building part of a three-dimensional structure.
During the Mission Training, Eddie and his partner were attached to a harness that enabled them to hang from the ceiling and experience the feeling of floating in space.
Eddie then used a cable to pull himself along the cargo bay to the site of the structure construction.
David and John were assigned the jobs of Mission Specialist 1 and 2. They will be onboard the shuttle during the mission. They will also be completing an EVA. Their job will be to complete the structure that Eddie and his partner began.

The students did well during the training. The actual mission will take place on Tuesday.
